JERSEY CITY, N.J. | The Nursing program at New Jersey City University (NJCU) continues to be a gamechanger in preparing its graduates for impactful careers in the in-demand healthcare field and the rankings reinforce that fact. In the 2021 Nursing School Almanac rankings, NJCU @ Fort Monmouth has been ranked the No. 1 Prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in the state of New Jersey.

“With the No. 1 ranked prelicensure BSN Program in New Jersey, NJCU @ Fort Monmouth is well positioned with its new state of the art nursing education center to better serve the needs of the local health care community and those interested in studying nursing,” noted Michael Edmondson, Ph.D., the Director of NJCU @ Fort Monmouth, Dean of the College of Professional Studies and Dean of Professional Education and Lifelong Learning. “Congratulations to our department chair, Dr. Joyce Wright, and the entire faculty and staff for this notable achievement.”

The methodology used by Nursing School Almanac analyzed NJCU’s data from 2013 through 2020, including NJCU @Fort Monmouth’s previous location at Brookdale.

Rankings were based on the institution’s academic prestige and perceived value, the breadth and depth of nursing programs offered, and student success, particularly on the NCLEX licensure examination.

At NJCU @ Fort Monmouth, students had an exceptional 97.8 percent first-time NCLEX pass rate and its accelerated second degree BSN program gained special recognition. In addition, the NJCU main campus program was ranked #14 in New Jersey.
