MAHWAH- For the fifth consecutive year, Ramapo College is ranked #1 for the best dorms across all public and private colleges and universities in New Jersey by Niche in its announcement of the 2022 Best College Dorms in America ranking. Nationally, Ramapo advanced its ranking to be among the top 2% of all colleges and universities nationally and landed in the top 30 in the country for the first time.

“Ramapo is excited and proud of its consistent ranking as home to the best dorms in New Jersey,” said Christopher Romano, vice president of enrollment management and student affairs. “After a challenging two years for many students during the pandemic, we know that students are looking for a campus that offers a highly engaged, vibrant and safe residential experience.”

Per Niche, the Best College Dorms in America ranking is based on key statistics and student reviews. Top-ranked colleges offer outstanding campus housing that is safe and clean with modern amenities at reasonable prices. “The fact that our #1 ranking comes from our own student feedback reinforces Ramapo’s commitment to put our students first,” Romano added.

Noting the essential value of a healthy and vibrant residential experience, Dean of Students Melissa Van Der Wall said, “At Ramapo, we recognize that students thrive academically and socially when the conditions within which they work, study, and live are as supportive as they are fulfilling.” A featured review of the college recently submitted to Niche by an alumnus notes, “My time at Ramapo were some of the best years of my life. The faculty and staff genuinely care about students, the education is top-notch, and the students are kind and community-oriented. There are lots of clubs and organizations to get involved in. The campus and surrounding areas are breath-taking, and it’s in close proximity to shopping and NYC. The residence halls really are as great as people say, and they are clearly the best in the state by far!”

Ramapo offers a variety of residential living, including first-year living in MackinBischoff, and Pine Halls, to apartment-style living in the College Park Apartments to The Village.
